Accessibility Statement
Effective date: July 24, 2026 · Last updated: July 24, 2026
Lantern is built for families — including elders with mixed comfort with technology, caregivers using assistive technology, and relatives checking in from anywhere. Accessibility is not a compliance checkbox for a product like this; it is the product working for the people it is for.
1. Our standard
We treat the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our floor, and aim higher on elder-facing surfaces. Practices we apply across the Service include:
- body-text contrast of at least 4.5:1 in both light and dark themes;
- visible focus states and full keyboard paths for interactive elements;
- semantic HTML structure and labeled controls;
- color never as the only carrier of meaning;
prefers-reduced-motionhonored everywhere — animations and ambient motion switch off;- responsive layouts that support zoom and mobile screen readers; and
- plainspoken language throughout — and larger type, one action per screen, and voice-first design on elder-facing surfaces as they ship.
2. Known limitations
Lantern is under active development, and some views (for example, data-dense dashboards and trend visualizations) may not yet be fully optimized for every assistive technology. Where something is not accessible to you, the underlying information is available in text form — and we will provide it on request. Localization (Spanish, Russian, Uzbek) is on our roadmap.
3. Third-party content
Some functionality may rely on third-party platforms (for example, connected device ecosystems, telephony, or service providers). We do not control their accessibility, but we consider accessibility in choosing partners.
4. Feedback and alternative formats
If you hit an accessibility barrier, or need this page or any policy in an alternative format (large print, plain text, or read aloud to a family member), contact us — we take these reports seriously and will respond promptly:
- Email: sardoru@gmail.com
- Mail: Lantern, Attn: Legal, 9 N 2nd St, Memphis, TN 38103, USA
When reporting, it helps to include the page, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and what happened. Email sardoru@gmail.com with the subject “Accessibility.”
